Hello everyone,

As you may have seen by now there are social media posts about writing in my name (Paul Fitts) as Mayor for Raleigh. I was the last endorsed Conservative candidate to run, which was 2017.

What has changed in our town to have voters look for a better/other option? Crime is a HUGE issue. Starting with the MASSIVE RIOTS Raleigh had in the summer of 2020, you had a mayor TELL THE POLICE TO STAND DOWN. Then that same Mayor gave a press conference where she stated the offenders as “mostly white”, however she neglected to mention they were also mostly registered Democrats and mostly not citizens of Raleigh. She allowed out of towners to burn, loot and destroy parts of our town in a fake claim of “justice”.

Since 2020 CRIME has risen STEADILY and our Police Force has been GREATLY diminished in size. In 2001 we had 800 police officers, now (since our population has doubled) our officer ranks are now in the 600s. This ALL DEMOCRCAT council has wasted money, put our city further in debt and allowed us to be under attack while placing curfews on law abiding citizens. It’s completely unacceptable.

To fix a problem you have to recognize it. Housing, to make housing “affordable” you have to make it available. We issue more permits to build $600k+ homes than permits to build $300k (or lower) townhomes. Our Mayor and Council don’t look to build they simply walk by and ignore. We need to build up and we’re truly not even trying nor targeting areas to maximize usage. One huge underutilized space in Raleigh is Central Prison. We need to move that facility OUT of Raleigh and have it built somewhere else, then use the existing 40 acres there for “higher” living. Imagine a Mid-Town, downtown. Why has it never been discussed, because our currently council doesn’t have the direction nor intelligence to even think of such a thing.

Homelessness, we truly need to use the existing Dix building to help transition our homeless population to working and productive citizens. That building is wasted space. We can use it to turn people’s lives around and when our economy gains strength again we can hopefully go back to plans on an actual park there…..but we can’t afford the price tag on Dix now. It’s a tax increase on Citizens who are facing a Recession. This is a complete Tone Deaf move by an Ivory Tower Council.

We have other issues that hamper our city, but the truth is we have good people a great work ethic and phenomenal potential. Voting for the same old same old should no longer be an option and I would be honored…truly honored to have your vote of confidence and your vote for Mayor of Raleigh.

Thank you

Paul Fitts
